What a keto diet is?

Updated: Aug 6, 2020

How can it cause fat loss?

The keto diet is a low-carb, high-fat diet. It can lower levels of blood sugar and insulin, and transfer the metabolism of the body from carbohydrates to fats and ketones. A ketogenic diet can increase the sensitivity to insulin and cause fat loss. This diet can help to lose much more weight compared with a low-fat diet and happens typically without starvation.

What should I eat?

Through the ketogenic diet, you can eat a range of delicious and nutritious meals. Foods such as meat, fish, eggs, butter, nuts, healthy oils, avocados, and lots of low-carb vegetables are suitable. Great keto diet snacks include cheese, olives, nuts and dark chocolates. Stop using carbohydrate-containing foods, including wheat, sugar, beans, rice, potatoes, candy, juices and even most fruits. Choose dishes which are mainly meat, fish or eggs when eating out. Order additional vegetables, rather than carbs or starches, and serve them as a dessert with cheese.

Should I take any supplements?

On a ketogenic diet, some supplements can be beneficial. These include exogenous ketones, minerals and MCT oil. Most side effects can be prevented from beginning a ketogenic diet. Relaxing your food and taking mineral supplements can help.
